Getting Word Wintouch Ready - Configuring Microsoft Word

Mail Merge with Microsoft Word is easy with the tools Wintouch provides. In the following section, you will find instructions for:

Adding the Wintouch Macro in Microsoft Word

With the Wintouch Macro, you will be able to auto-populate your Microsoft Word documents with field values from Wintouch. Adding the Wintouch Macro creates the following four macros in Microsoft Word: WintouchEnvelope, WintouchLabel, WintouchLetter, and WintouchLetterButton.

Wintouch Letter:  When you click on the Letter icon in the Wintouch Account Summary menubar, Microsoft Word will open, prompting you to select either an existing Word template or to create a new one.

Note:  For the Letter button to work, the Word Executable File field in the Wintouch Options tab of the Preferences window must be correct. If you receive an error message when you click the Letter button, ask your Administrator to check your Word Executable File field.

Wintouch Label:  This macro allows you to easily add merge fields to label documents in Word.

Wintouch Envelope:  This macro allows you to easily add merge fields to envelopes in Word.

Wintouch Letter Button:  When placed on your Microsoft Word toolbar, this Macro allows you to easily add merge fields to letters in Word.

Creating the Mail Merge Buttons in Microsoft Word.

Once you have added the Wintouch Macros in Microsoft Word, you can customize your toolbar to display the Mail Merge buttons: the Wintouch Button, the Insert Merge Field button, and the Insert Word Field button, which will allow you to easily insert Merge Fields into Word documents that are populated by Wintouch.

Assigning the Microsoft Word Template Directory

In this section, you will learn how to assign the Microsoft Word template directory. The directory you assign in this procedure will determine the directory Wintouch defaults to when you click the Letter button.

Creating a Word Template

Using the mail merge buttons you created above, you will be able to create templates with fields which will auto-populate from Wintouch.
