Add Auto Formatting Phone / Fax
Some countries have telephone / fax numbers of different lengths (i.e. different numbers of digits). Because of this, Wintouch allows you to set different formats for telephone / fax numbers of different lengths. We will use Azerbaijan as the example for formatting international telephone / fax numbers. For Example,in Azerbaijan land line phones have 8-digit numbers and mobile phones have 9-digit numbers.
- From the Main Menu Bar go to Options -> Preferences .
- In the Wintouch Options tab, there is a section called Telephone-Fax Format. By default the Ignore Formatting check boxes are enabled for each country.
- Locate the country Azerbaijan and deselect the Ignore Formatting check box.
- Double click in the Format column.
- When the Edit Format window opens select the Add button.
- In the New Format dialog type the desired format specifying parentheses, dashes, and spaces, and using the # symbol to represent the digits. An example of a 8-digit phone / fax number format is (###)#####. If you enter 26164541 in a phone / fax field for this country, it would display (261)64541. When you are ready to move on press the OK button.
- Press OK button.
- You will see the format that was added displayed in the Format column.
- Check the Show Country Dialing Code box if you would like the country code to display in telephone / fax fields. The format of the Country code display is automatic - it is not customizable. For the U.S., this would mean a +1 would show before all numbers.
- Click Save at the bottom of the screen and decide at which level to save your customization.
