Touchtone Offers Free Wireless Modems through July 20, 2002

March 13, 2002 – Costa Mesa, CA – Touchtone Corporation, developer of the Wintouch eCRM suite for the IBM iSeries (AS/400) operating system, announced the Wintouch Wireless Web program. Now through July 20, 2002, Touchtone will provide free modems for field personnel with each server installation of Wintouch eCRM. Touchtone has partnered with Sprint PCS to offer American companies free Aircard 510 Modems by Sierra Wireless^®, valued at $249.00 each.

The Wintouch Wireless Web solution is different from most CRM packages that send too large a data packet over the airwaves to communicate effectively in a wireless mode. Wintouch is I/O "economical" (Input/Output – sends small packets of data back and forth) and can operate effectively at 9.6k or 14.4k. This enables field personnel to take advantage of existing wireless technology to access and update an AS/400 database in real-time without having to invest in more expensive methods or to step backward on the technology scale to use remote synchronization.

Wintouch eCRM is accessible by any Java-enabled browser and can be fully customized and integrated within two to eight weeks. Wintouch utilizes a native DB2/400 database to provide quick, easy and seamless back-end enterprise and ERP integration. Web-based implementation eliminates client installation, saving time and cutting costs on upgrades. Powerful search capabilities allow virtually any combination of data fields to be selected for onetime or periodic Boolean searches.

Integrated mail and email expedite single or merge group template communications, automatically logging client contact and scheduling follow-up activities. Integrated 5250 terminal emulation provides quick access to enterprise "green screen" applications from Wintouch – in the office or in the field.

Wintouch also features flexible GUI customization enabling the enterprise, departments or end users to simply "drag and drop" fields for additional customization. Flexible design allows front-end database fields to be determined, grouped, organized, presented and named to meet the unique needs of each enterprise. Language localization is a simple "table entry" process, not a programming process. Scalability enables virtually limitless customer and contact records, or database fields.

Wintouch is secure – all database information resides on the enterprise server, with ID and password transmission encrypted and required for access. No database records reside on the end user preventing unauthorized electronic copying of valuable customer data. Wintouch offers the unique ability to quickly link one "contact" to many "accounts" (i.e. a consultant) without entering the contact information separately for each account. This same feature also enables an activity or sequence of activities to be scheduled for many account contacts from one entry.
